Bio:

Called to the bar in 1978, Robert has a special interest in personal injury and workers’ compensation law. He is also experienced in the fields of insurance and administrative law.

Before joining Harris & Brun as a founding partner in 1984, Robert practiced for five years with the Workers’ Compensation Board of BC.

Robert is a knowledgeable and experienced practitioner in the field of workers’ compensation as it relates to auto-accident injuries. He is a skilled trial lawyer who has conducted many trials and appeals in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court of Canada. Robert is a frequent guest lecturer at seminars for lawyers put on by Continuing Legal Education, the Canadian Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of BC.

He has served his profession as a President of the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association in 2003-2004 and three terms as a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia between 2005 and 2011. He has also served as a member of the Justice Review Task Force and the CBA National Task Force on Conflicts of Interest. In March 2010 Robert was elected to the position of Second Vice-President of the Canadian Bar Association.  He will assume the role of President of the Canadian Bar Association at the CBA’s Canadian Legal Conference in Vancouver in August 2012.

In 1997, Robert became an elected member of the provincial council of the Canadian Bar Association, Vice President of the British Columbia Branch 2002/2003 and then President in 2003. He was elected as a Bencher of the Law Society in 2004 and served three terms in that capacity. In March 2010, Robert was elected Second Vice-President of the Canadian Bar Association and will become the National President in August, 2012.
