Ryan Monty is a civil litigation lawyer who advises and represents insurance defense clients.

While practicing law, Ryan has represented both plaintiffs and defendants relating to personal injury claims, along with advising clients in real estate and wills and estates disputes, and criminal matters. He has appeared in front of the Supreme and Provincial Courts of British Columbia.

An Alberta Expat (born and raised in Calgary), Ryan moved to Vancouver in 2016, after studying law at Thompson Rivers University. He started his legal career at a boutique civil litigation firm, and then his love of the mountains took him to Squamish for a time where he continued to establish a general litigation practice. He is now back in Vancouver and joined Harris Brun in the spring of 2020.

Ryan is well-traveled, including spending time in Colima, Mexico (conducting an independent research project during his undergrad), and teaching snowboarding and English for a year in Japan.

When not working, Ryan enjoys socializing with friends and staying active, particularly with snowboarding, golfing, hockey, and keeping up with his border collie, Gerry
